Dennis Hegg Young Director Award
The Dennis Hegg Young Director Award was created in 2011 and remembers the spirit and dedication that SDBA Hall of Fame member Dennis Hegg had for mentoring young band directors.

Selection Criteria:
- Must be a current member of the SD Bandmasters Association
- Have not taught more than 10 years, including this year
- Must be in at least their 2nd year of teaching
