Director of Young Bands Midwest Clinic Award

The purpose of this award is to provide annual funds to one South Dakota director of young bands (grades 5-8) to the Midwest International Band Clinic in Chicago.

Selection Criteria
*Open to all directors with preference given to those in their first to fifth year of teaching young bands in SD, never attended Midwest clinic and a SD Bandmasters member. (could be combination of k-12 music, 5-12 band, 5-8 band)
*Must be able to commit to attending the entire Midwest Clinic (should check with their school district if professional release time would be permitted).
*Would give report to Bandmaster’s board in February and present information gained from clinics at South Dakota Bandmaster’s Summer Symposium in Chamberlain.
*Selection committee will review applications to determine awardee.
